Group Therapy

gt

All the therapists in our practice are trained in group therapy and our practice focuses on children and adolescent groups working on social skills. We have curriculum that we build to meet the needs of each individual groups needs. Are curriculums are not boiler plate, instead the therapists thinks of what each individual needs in the group and then works to integrate all the skills into the curriculum to best help foster growth and development in the areas most needed for the group members. Our groups run at 12 week increments, with 2 parent individual meetings to help the parent reinforce what their child is learning in group. Our group therapy sessions typically run for 60 minutes.

“Teen Talk” – A New Social Skills Group for High School Girls – Forming Now!

Does your daughter have difficulties making friends and/or keeping them?

Do they hold back from inviting a friend over because of their social anxiety?

Is it hard for your daughter to read social cues?

It can be so challenging to navigate a girl’s world if any of the above questions ring true for your daughter and with the addition of technology, it adds a whole other layer to the social dynamics.

In our group we will be talking about and doing activities that will help develop your daughter’s social skills and increase their self-esteem.

The group takes up to 6 girls and is an open group meaning your daughter can start any time until we reach 6 girls. We will meet once a week for 60 minutes.

Please contact Ali Meyer, LCSW, at ameyer@movingforwardplc.com, with any questions and to register.
