Rachel Jenkins, MSW, LSW-Resident
Rachel is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Virginia, a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Provider. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. She is currently a Social Work Resident, working towards clinical licensure.
Rachel currently works on a Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Inova Hospital, providing case management services and psychotherapy for patients with traumatic brain injuries and neurological disorders.
Previous to working at the hospital, she worked for a nationwide veteran non-profit organization for four and a half years, in two different positions. In one role, she co-facilitated multi-day adventurous retreats for individual veterans and military couples focused on resiliency and coping skills. In her other role, she worked with veterans that sustained traumatic brain injuries, providing connections to community resources and case management.
She has worked extensively with individuals that have experienced major life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and sexual assault.
Rachel is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) and Relax and Renew® certified for Restorative Yoga. She likes incorporating movement, mindfulness exercises, and breathing techniques into her clinical practice.
Rachel has a passion for working with service members and their families, and individuals wishing to learn new ways to manage anxiety and depression. She doesn’t believe in a one size fits all model, but often works from a strengths-based perspective or solution focused modality.
